Everett L. Potter, 65 of Watkins, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Memorial services were held on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins.

Everett L. Potter was born on November 5, 1951 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was the son of Meredith and Betty Marie (Galloncamp) Potter. He grew up and graduated from high school in Omaha. He had resided in Minneapolis, Hutchinson, and St. Cloud where he attended St. Cloud State University. While in St. Cloud, Everett met his life partner, Margaret "Mugs" Ertl and he moved to Watkins where resided to the present time.

Everett was a brittle diabetic and had been wheel chair bound for many years. He had received a kidney transplant at the University Of Minnesota Hospital in 1991. Everett enjoyed writing poetry and he was an avid movie buff, having recorded over a thousand movies. He was an accomplished artist and enjoyed sketching to pass the time. Everett also enjoyed playing games, especially trivia games, and he enjoyed music and playing the guitar. He loved pets and had a cat, Simba and two dogs, Petie and Georgia surviving him. He also had dogs that preceded him in death, Oscar, Ernie, Charlie and Loopy Lu.

Survivors include his common law wife and life partner, Margaret "Mugs" Ertl; sons, Jeramiha (Stacey) Potter of Fargo, ND, Mathew (Fiancée', Stephanie LaCroix) of Fargo, ND; brothers and sisters, Carol Duplex of Omaha, NE, Larry Potter, Brenda White-Lubke of Greenville, TX, Bill Potter of Omaha, NE, Freda Boykin of Shreveport, LA, John Potter of Pontiac, MI, Herman Potter of Plattsmouth, NE.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Dorian Emeric; brothers, Darryl Potter and Paul Potter.
