Patricia Ann "Trish" Kaufman was born on February 21, 1949 to Elmer and Mathilda (Kunkel) Kaufman in St. Cloud, Minnesota. In 1967, Trish graduated from St. Boniface High School in Cold Spring, Minnesota. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Bemidji State College in 1970, her Master of Counseling degree from Seattle University in 1983 and her Doctor of Education degree from Argosy University in Seattle in 2009.

Trish always had a love for traveling and that was her passion. In 1976, the bicentennial year, Trish purchased a bus ticket allowing her to travel to numerous cities in the United States. Her final ride took her to Seattle where she made it her home. There she joined the Lions, Eagles and Elks clubs, became a member of the American Counseling Association and National Board of Certified Counselors. Trish served 30 years as a voluntary board member for the Community House Mental Health Agency. She was an active board member having held all board office positions within the agency. She worked as a manager and resident counselor in various group homes. She became an outreach mental health worker for a psychiatrist in private practice. In 1984, Trish started a private practice and became an advocate/case manager for chronic mentally ill adults. She also contracted with various community services as a family therapist.

In 2010, Trish followed her dream of traveling around the world. She took a yearlong vacation visiting all seven continents. Antarctica was her favorite, but felt a total rush walking on the Great Wall of China. Trish was also an avid reader, belonging to a book club, and she loved to play Mahjong and Scrabble with her friends. In 2016, well before Trish's diagnosis with cancer, the Board of Directors of Community House unanimously voted to name their next housing project the "Patricia K." in honor of her service.

On May 24, 2017, Trish, at the age of 68, died peacefully in her home under Hospice care and the loving care of family and friends. Peace and Love xoxo

Trish is survived by her brothers and sisters, Michael (Debbie) Kaufman of ColdSpring, MN, Barb Dalton of Kimball, MN, Lewis Kaufman of Waite Park, MN, Lois (Christ) Peters of Marty; brother-in-law, Jim Kraemer of Cold Spring, MN; 14 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Margie Kraemer and Mary Jo Main.
